Senior Program Manager - Energy and Resilience

Bio

Namrata is a Senior Program Manager with the energy team at WRI India. Her responsibilities include strategic partnership building, project management, policy research and knowledge management. Her research areas focus on energy access, climate resilience, and fair, equitable and responsible energy transition. Prior to joining the energy team, she worked with WRI’s Climate Resilience Practice (CRP) team for five years where her work focused on mainstreaming climate resilience in policy planning, policy research on transformative agriculture practices and building climate vulnerability mapping tools. She has published reports, blogs, and case studies on above mentioned topics, and helped develop a tracking tool for adaptation projects for the National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change.

Prior to joining WRI, Namrata conducted research and advised on building low-carbon climate resilient water and sanitation infrastructure in India and Bangladesh. She holds a B.Tech in Civil Engineering and M.Tech in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from the Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT), Ahmedabad. At CEPT, her research covered livelihood vulnerability assessments for coastal villages in Gujarat, India, a city-wide assessment of vulnerability to climate change for Ahmedabad, India, and strategies for low-carbon development in the city of Bangkok, Thailand.

Namrata is a painter and an avid reader. Her other passions include traveling and household terrace farming.
