Bio

Tarun George is a Senior Program Associate - Electric Mobility with the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India. Working out of Hyderabad, he is engaged with projects on road safety, streets design and electric mobility. He works at the intersection of design, policy and technology in collaboration with government organisations and entrepreneurs to implement sustainable and equitable solutions.

Tarun comes to WRI with significant experience in the transportation sector, the most notable projects being, Operations and Service Planning of Bus Rapid Transit System in Pimpri Chinchwad, Auditing of the Urban Area Traffic Control system for Mumbai and Peer Reviewing the Coastal Road Project in Mumbai. Additionally, he has been involved in comprehensive mobility planning, demand forecasting, transport modelling and logistics and distribution management projects.

He holds a master’s in Planning with specialization in Transportation Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi and a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram.

Tarun is a foodie and fancies barbequing for his family and friends. He also loves exploring cities on pedals and is an amateur guitarist.
